The agreement aims to maximise societal benefit through joint initiatives that reflect the UAE’s enduring values of unity, compassion, and generosity.

The MoU was signed by His Excellency Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, and His Excellency Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Charity Association. It outlines a framework for year-round collaboration on charitable and humanitarian projects that serve the public good, alongside participation in community initiatives and seasonal campaigns that benefit the largest possible number of individuals. The partnership aligns with Dubai’s vision to enhance quality of life and advance sustainable development through social responsibility and collective impact.

His Excellency Eng. Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said: “Humanitarian and charitable work is a key pillar within Dubai Municipality’s agenda. We strive to strengthen and develop it as an impactful, forward-looking field that embodies the UAE’s values of generosity and giving, while contributing to Dubai’s vision of building a more sustainable and compassionate city. His Excellency Ahmed Al Suwaidi, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Charity Association, said: “This partnership with Dubai Municipality marks a significant milestone in the advancement of charitable work. It is not merely an MoU, but a declaration of joint purpose that reflects the values of giving established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, and upheld by our wise leadership. Through this collaboration, supported by Dubai Municipality’s extensive capabilities and advanced infrastructure, we aim to expand the reach and impact of our humanitarian programmes, ensuring that beneficiaries receive services of the highest quality and efficiency.”

He added: “This cooperation will also enable us to adopt innovative approaches to supporting families in need, addressing social challenges holistically, and fostering greater community participation in charitable efforts. Together, we are reinforcing Dubai’s global reputation as a centre of philanthropy, community development, and humanitarian leadership.”

This partnership is expected to amplify the positive impact of charitable and community initiatives across the emirate by leveraging the combined expertise and resources of both entities. It underscores Dubai’s standing as an international model of humanitarian giving and a city that places compassion, unity, and service to others at the heart of its development journey.
